How parents can help

1.       Have a conversation with your child about their progress. You can see their work in their jotters and on the Teams app (this acts as the ipad ‘jotter’ and ‘textbook’). Students also have ‘learning logs’ for each subject where they record their progress and their next steps.

2.        Support them with practice. The Satchel app on their ipad and your device is an important diary and communication. Teachers note homework set and ‘not submitted’ on the Satchel app. We recommend that you have at least a weekly check on whether they have ‘not submitted’ work. Set a regular time when practice is done and when you check completion.

3.        Information, key dates, ‘how to’s’ for the Satchel diary app and other information is available on the school website. https://www.earlstonhighschool.org.uk/  ‘Virtual school’ gives technical help, ‘faculties’ gives you course information, ‘parent zone’ gives you specific help for your child’s year group.
