What qualifications do you have that are relevant to your teaching post?

I have studied Victorian Literature at post-graduate level, so have an interest in that area specifically. I also, along with a couple of other teachers, coordinate the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme in school.

Can you summarise what is it about your subject that you love?

Reading! English gives you the opportunity to read all kinds of texts and therefore understand and interact with the world around you. Some of the greatest literary characters are now household names – Blanche Dubois, Oliver Twist, Lenny and George – and come to life in the English classroom.
